About

Hi, my name is Alexander Hormann.

I am a mathematics and physical education teacher at a boarding school in Holzminden, Germany.

Outside of work, I have a deep passion for nature photography. It truly blossomed during my 4,270 km (2,653-mile) thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada in 2018 - an unforgettable experience that left a lasting positive impact on my life.

Since I published my first photo book about the Pacific Crest Trail in 2020, I have shared my love of nature by taking my sister, my girlfriend, and even my students on several hiking adventures in the European mountains.

A walk through the forest near my home in April 2021 led to another unforgettable experience: an unexpected encounter with a family of fox cubs. This moment taught me to value the beauty of nature not only in distant wilderness areas, but also in the places we wander every day.

I hope my photographs invite you to discover, appreciate, and protect the beauty of nature wherever you are.
